How do you feel?

I haven't been drinking beer these last two weeks in an effort to lose a few kgs before the marathon. It doesn't seem to be working and everywhere I look I'm reminded of the "joy of beer".

Just searching for a song for my blog and I came across this classic. I remember this ad really well and could even sing the words after 25 years not hearing it at all.

Perhaps it is trying to tell me to have a beer. What do you reckon?

  1. Great ad, its the first time I've seen it! Thought it would take more than that to make me feel like a Tooheys ... give me a XXXX or two any day ;-)

  2. That should be 'though' not 'thought'.

  3. I though you were a person of better taste, Tesso!

  5. I'm with Tesso. However, I am a bit partial to Toohey's Old.

  6. I forte Tesso new more about beer. Though now I'm not so sure.

I remember that. A bit scary - was it really 25 years ago? Who was it that thought up such poetry...

Classic. Bad beer, but classic TV.

  7. I don't know about the beer....

Just heard about the earthquake over there. I have no idea where you are, but I hope you've not been affected.

  8. I hope this helps take your mind off the beer:

What's with this Tooheys Vs XXXX Vs VB business? In my proudest beer snob voice I declare a pox on all their houses. Get some craft beer into you!! And Scott, not to make you feel bad or anything, but I have been making up for the beer you have not been drinking. I drank real ale on Thursday night, wonderful hoppy home brew at a friend's house yesterday, and a mob of assorted American (& a couple of Japanese) craft brews at another tasting this afternoon.

Hmm mmmm! I'm a bit beered out for now.

  9. I remember the song but not the ad. Coming from Sth Aus I would put in a vote for Coopers Sparkling Ale, but the last time I had it I was very ill.
