Places I run

I'm going to upload some snaps of the "places I run" now and in future posts. Here is "sayama pond" a 3K loop around , yes , a pond. It was the first place I started to run and has remained a favorite as it has clean well kept toilets, I like that in a run, and the sunrises over the back mountains are fantastic, although you can't see the mountains so well in these photos and its not morning, you are going to have to take my word for it.

Hope you're all well.

  2. I agree that it's a great idea Scott. It looks like a nice place to run, looks very flat (my dream).

  3. Thats a funny looking pond. I have a pond in my backyard and it looks nothing like that?? That looks more like a lake?

  4. Do you have gmail account? When signed in and going to Google Maps you can make My Maps and put in push pins with photos at the location. Pretty cool.

How far is it from home to the pod? It looks a great course, nice and flat and uninterrupted. Does it have distance markers?

I know exactly what you mean about the mountains. The haze in this country is bad. On a nice clear winter day we can actually see Fuji from our place. Ona bad day we can't even see the neighbour's place. ;-)

  5. That Google maps business sounds good, I'll take a look. Thanks.

It's five minutes by car to the pond , I sometimes run there but there is a killer hill on the way and not a good path there.

  6. Ohh I forgot, there are markers, silver plates on embedded in the road, ever 50 meters around the pond.

  7. I bet there are heaps of black fish in that pond.

    You could try 100 x 50m sprint/50m float ;)

  10. Nice idea Scott. I'm going to try and get a photo of some of my haunts - I'll just have to wait until it stops raining (if only it would rain in the farming areas, not the city!).

Nice looking pond, and a good size loop. Do you ever find that you miss it if you don't run there for a while? I often find a good, familiar track quite comforting (but I'm not sure about doing 10 laps!).
