Cruel

My song of the week is dedicated to "Bay" the blogger who has just returned from Laos. The songs title "cruel" refers to the fact that I didn't have a holiday over Xmas New Year and think it's "cruel" that I didn't ;) especially to that part of the world, as it's my favorite.

As for the song I've just been getting into "Calexico"'s music. This song will get into your head give it 3 or 4 listens, great stuff.

Running is not going too well this week missed a couple of sessions due to not waking up early enough and being too tired after work. Anyway I have a half marathon this weekend, Sunday, and I don't want to be tired for that ;)Well this race should give me a good indication of where I'm at and I'll go from there.

Have a good rest of the week.

  1. I didn't have a holiday either so I think it's cruel too ;-)

Good luck with the race. Look forward to reading your report

  2. Good choice of music there Scott. I discovered these guys a little while ago, I think it was via their connection with the band Iron & Wine who are kinda similar.

Good luck with the half if I don't 'talk' to you.

  3. Neither did I - unless you count a four-day long weekend for the New Year :)

I can relate to "too tired after work" - luckily the 12 hour days are less common than a few years ago.

Have a g'd'alf! If you run 1:26 you'll be on track to run the 1:23 you need for a sub-3 in Canberra.

  4. Shame about not haveing a holiday, Scott! I see Ewen has you down for a sub 3 in Canberra...that means I won't see you for dust ...or even several days!

  5. Don't say running wasn't going well Scott. That's called tapering.

All the best for the half. That Ewen is a tough coach.

  6. Hi Scott, thanks for your comment - and at least I'm not the only one working too hard and not taking a break. Great to read that you are still churning out the long runs as well as the half/marathons. Great stuff!

    MAR.

Geez, thanks Scott! I reckon that's my first ever song dedication! Great song too.

But, this is the first Christmas season in 7 years that I've had a holiday, so I figure it was due.

Just realised that my feed-reader is broken because I was wondering why no one was posting - got a few to catch up on (so probably more comments on the way!).
