The last time I was in Hokkaido was on my honeymoon. An amazing 10 day bus trip that included visiting a volcanic wonderland, all the seafood I could eat, hot pools at every stop and getting to know my mother and father in-law. That's right, that wasn't a typo! :-/
Hope it's not too hot. Anyway, training through the summer in Osaka should have you heat-acclaimated.
