Half Marathon PB

Had a nice run today and feel I made up for the last half I ran. It was perfect weather the course was mostly flat, very scenic, with only 3 long hills to slow us down, still made up for it on the downsides.

Happy today because apart from finally getting some good weather I felt in control. Usually when I PB I feel at the limit of my potential but today, at least after the race, I felt I could have gone faster.

My time was 1:27:26 (chip) a PB for me and bit of redemption. Also I feel like I'm on the right track with my training and my hamstring problem wasn't a problem today. So onwards and upwards. Thanks for your continued support :)

I'll upload a few photos from the day. Me my kids and I.
The whole family stayed at a hotspring resort the night before so the weekend in total was very enjoyable and relaxing.

  3. I know, I know. I don't like to rush into things. Well that's not entirely true - we had been "an item" less than 6 months before we became engaged :-)

  4. Yay, a PB!!! They don't come around often, its very exciting.

Huge congrats. Looks like your patience paid off. And how good must it feel to think you could have gone faster. When is the next one?

Great pics by the way, you kids are too cute :)

  5. Wow - that's fantastic Scott. Notice I was sensible enough not to say "Great Scott!"

Love the photos - looks just like the beach at Gold Coast. I'm glad you have the boys doing the V for victory sign rather than the 3" sign ;)

  6. Great Scott! (I'm not as sensible as Ewen.)

That is a big improvement from a month ago and a PB to boot.

And to cap it all, you could share the weekend with your family. Magic.

Nicely done Scott! It seems that your down patches don't last long to come back with a great PB. Congratulations.

On the back of such a great performance, I think I might have to steal your strengthening routine!

I notice that you're running the Townsville marathon - I hope you like the humidity......

  12. Good to see the injuries aren't making too much of a dent on your progress mate.

Hopefully we'll see you here for a sub 3 at Canberra '09!
