  1. Good to hear you sounding so positive Scott.

Will be interested to see how you go with the Paleo diet. Don't know anything about it, but sounds similar to the recommendations of Phil Maffetone re unprocessed food, low GI fruits, veggies, higher 'good' fat, low carbs. Bound to help with fat burning too - good for marathoners.

Anyway, good luck. And yes, agree with you about how great it is that Tokyo got the games. If they can do as good a job as Sydney it'll be brilliant. I guess the weather could be testing for the marathoners, but maybe they'll run them at night in Prime Time.

    1. Thanks Ewen.

That idea about running the marathon at night or at least finishing in the dark may not be as crazy at it first seems. Very real possibility in fact.

  3. Your Paleo diet comment is timely. I'll look into it myself. Ive had my diet scrutinized recently and failed miserably. I love my food so much, just not the food that makes for good runners unfortunately. I see you have Nagai Park coming up. I used to 'jog' there often back in 98. Good luck with the training week ahead.

    1. Yes Mark the diet is something I've been avoiding working on all these years but there is so much to be gained by getting it right. Anyway if it works for me I'll blog about it at some later stage.

The Nagai race is a new one, only the 3rd time, and it's close to my house so I couldn't resist. Details here if anyone is interested http://www.sanspo-marathon.com/entry.php?itemid=55218
