Yesterday

Did a longish run yesterday first one in 5 days. This is the first time I've taken so many days off running in a row since I don't know when. Anyway, the legs felt great the first 4omins no niggles or pain at all. I don't remember running on such fresh legs for a while either.

And apart from spiting up some residue phlegm I think I'm back. It's kind of strange how hard it was coming back after only five days out I can imagine how difficult it would be to start running again after an extended break I don't want to try that.

  1. My extended break lasted YEARS with lots and lots of chocolate in between. Not a good place to be. Glad you are back after only a few days!

  2. Good to see you back. Just consolidate this week. Don't try and make up for lost time, then get stuck in next week. Do as I do, not as I say ;-)

  3. Good to hear you are back at it. The 5 days probably felt like 50.

I find the longer the break the longer it takes me to enjoy running again. So the trick is to not take a break I guess (injuries and illness aside).

PS Thanks for sharing the "residue phlegm" spitting bit with us ;-)

This afternoon is my first run back (post cold) after 6 days off, so I guess I will find out how you felt!

I'm just hoping not to upset too many people on the uni loop with my "residue phlegm"......

  8. Yeah I'm with Tess - thanks for sharing the bit about the spitting of gross material :)

If 2P is the comeback king...i am the comeback Queen. But if you want to go through a sex change you can have my title.

Just take it easy. The biggest thing about 'COMING BACK' is the time it takes to recover between sessions. Rest today I hope before some lighter running during this week.

    Take care.

  9. I just read in other blog about to stop running for a month (for different reasons) but still only to think of something like that scares me!!

Nice run on fresh legs, five days sound enough to have you back!
