Good News
This morning I received a package in the post and on opening it I was surprised to find a trophy for 6th place in my age group in the Takatsuki marathon! You remember the one where they stopped us so close to home. I didn't end up contacting them as I found in the small print where they said they may have to stop because of traffic concerns, so I just accepted it.
But it seemed someone knew what happened. It was either an official or the guy that passed me to get 6th that helped with this but I shouldn't have doubted that things would be put right. It is not for no reason that the Japanese are known for being honest and honorable. I was very happy about this.

Hooray!
ReplyDeleteGlad they noticed, and acknowledged your run/place.
(Also, shouldn't HAVE. You're an English teacher! B-, and no gold sticker.)
Thanks, fixed it! Having a grammarian reading has certainly helped raise the level of this blog and my blood pressure ;)
ReplyDeletethat's awesome they figured it out AND holy cow that's an impressive award. congrats speedy!!!
ReplyDeleteNice! Both that they sent it to you and the actual trophy itself.
ReplyDeleteGood and satisfying news indeed.
ReplyDeleteAwesome!!!!! and Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteNot only can you feel good about being acknowledged and 'karma'coming about but you didn't behave badly about it either so you still have your respect and honour.
Very very proud of your accomplishment. I'll have a cold one to celebrate :)))

ReplyDeleteWell, if we're going to be checking grammar...the guy who passed me....
ReplyDeleteThanks for the piriformis tip. I had forgotten that that was your problem. I'll check the video.
Bugger. Bob passed me before I could pull you up on a past mistake.
ReplyDeleteNow you'd better delete that angry video where you ripped into the organisers with expletives straight out of your tweets.
Woo hoo - good karma - congratulations on your well-earned trophy!
