Had my last long, long run on Sunday, 30kms, before the Nagano marathon and because I ate before, and drank sports drinks during I felt fine keeping an easy 5:30 pace. Faster in the last 5kms, 5:10 a K pace.
So now to just get in all my scheduled sessions until then and arrive at the start line healthy. My wife is away for 10 days in Thailand, yes Ewen I'm going to have to burn my own dinners for a while, and it is a bit difficult trying to fit all my running in and look after my two boys at the same time, anyway I'll do my best.
If only I could lock my car from the inside I could put the little buggers in there. With the windows down a bit, of course. I'm not a complete monster, you know ;)
Good luck in the Nagano Marathon next month. Sounds like the training's going okay. - Wayne
ReplyDeleteHey, isn't 2P in Thailand? Is there something going on here that we should know about?
ReplyDeleteRunning after two young sons will be pretty good marathon training Scott. Kids can be trying at times though.
ReplyDeleteGood last long run. It was good that you were able to improve the pace for the last 5K.
Nice work in that last long run Scott. Luv the fast finish!
ReplyDeleteHope you boys have fun baching :-)
Great! Now you can grill your fish to your preferred shade of blackness. Washed down by a Tooheys or two - perfect!
ReplyDeleteGet the boys a PS3 :)
Try finding an oval, putting them in the middle 'to play' and running around it/them. I have actually heard of people who do this but have never tried it myself.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great final hit out for you - certainly seems you have fuel left in the tank.
ReplyDeleteI had the same thought about 2P. ;)
Hi Scott. Thanks for the post. I'll keep you updated on the training. The 30K training run that you did sounded good. Please keep us updated. - Wayne
ReplyDeleteGood luck Scott for Nagano.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations too on being good enough to actually burn your own dinners. My culinary skills are not advanced enough to get that far down the food production path.
